Oakville, ON, April 7, 2019 – According to figures released April 7th by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales increased in April compared to the same period in 2018. Monthly property sales totalled 755 compared to 701 in April 2018.
The total number of new property listings also saw a rise this year. 1,342 new listings in April2019 compared to 1,324 in 2018.
"After a colder, quieter March, we're finally seeing a much more active Spring Market," says OMDREB President Oliver Matas. "It's now a great time to be a Seller! The number of property listings, property sales, and dollar volume of sales have all seen great increases during the month of April. The average sale prices in OMDREB trading areas have also increased year over year. So if you were waiting for the right time to put your home on the market, now is your chance."
The dollar volume of all property sales processed through the OMDREB MLS® system saw a drastic increase of over $76 million compared to last year. The figures in April 2019 sat at $552,426,907 as opposed to $476,247,595 in April 2018.
Milton's average sale price for the month of April was $743,087, an increase of 7.79 percent compared to April 2018 at $689,384. The average sale price in Oakville was $1,140,965, up 2.89 percent from $1,108,918 compared to the same time in 2018.
