April 2020 Market Report

May 7, 2020

Oakville, ON, May 7, 2020 – According to figures released May 7 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales dropped drastically in April compared to the same period in 2019. Monthly property sales went down by 472, totaling 289 compared to 761 in April 2019. The total number of new property listings saw the same this year: 559 new listings in April 2020 compared to 1,347 in 2019.

March 2020 Market Report

Oakville, ON, April 7, 2020 – According to figures released April 7 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales increased slightly in March compared to the same period in 2019. Monthly property sales went up by 20, totaling 670 compared to 650 in March 2019. The total number of new property listings dropped marginally this year: 1,118 new listings in March 2020 compared to 1,220 in 2019.

OMDREB becomes first Real Estate Board in Ontario to temporarily suspend all open houses during COVID-19 crisis

Understandably we all have questions about the impacts this crisis will have on our industry, both short and long-term. While no one has definitive answers, we can provide an update on the actions our Board is taking. As our industry involves a significant amount of personal contact, particularly during showings, open houses, and in-person client communication, we all need to keep in mind the recommendations of our Health Authorities who are strongly encouraging social distancing in the current environment.

COVID-19: Update to Board Operations

March 17, 2020

OMDREB has been monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and taking action to safeguard the well-being of our Members and staff. As noted in previous communications, this already includes cancelling all public events, seminars, training, in-person and Committee meetings. We will also be temporarily suspending all operations at our Milton office until further notice. Our Oakville office will be closed to guests, but operations will continue with a reduced on-site staff team until the end of this week. Effective at the end of day Friday, March 20, 2020, all Board staff will be working remotely and the Oakville office will be fully closed until further notice.

February 2020 Market Report

Oakville, ON, March 5, 2020 – According to figures released February 5 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales increased drastically in February compared to the same period in 2019. Monthly property sales went up by 154, totaling 639 compared to 485 in February 2019. The total number of new property listings also saw a significant increase this year: 925 new listings in February 2020 compared to 847 in 2019.

Ontario passes Trust in Real Estate Services Act

The Ontario Government has passed the Trust in Real Estate Service Act, 2019 (TRESA), and was announced at the Ontario Real Estate Association’s REALiTY Conference and AGM by new OREA President Sean Morrison.

Oakville, ON, February 5, 2020 – According to figures released February 5 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales increased in January compared to the same period in 2019. Monthly property sales went up by 24, totaling 449 compared to 425 in January 2019. The total number of new property listings saw a significant drop of 135 this year: 740 new listings in January 2020 compared to 875 in 2019.

December 2019 Market Report

Oakville, ON, January 9, 2020 – According to figures released January 8 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales increased in December compared to the same period in 2018. Monthly property sales went up by 35, totaling 362 compared to 327 in December 2018. The total number of new property listings saw a slight drop by 20 this year: 358 new listings in December 2019 compared to 378 in 2018.

November 2019 Market Report

According to figures released December 6 by The Oakville, Milton and District Real Estate Board (OMDREB), the number of all property sales increased slightly in October compared to the same period in 2018. Monthly property sales went up by 10, totaling 568 compared to 558 in November 2018. The total number of new property listings saw a drop by 186 this year: only 747 new listings in November 2019 compared to 933 in 2018.
